A Lesson From Dad
After i had enough of arguing with my dad about who was the better driver we got onto the topic of me not going to see Erykah Badu last year or Musiq Soulchild who was playing at the Indigo2 later that night. With everyone knowing that both Erykah and Musiq are my favourite artists by a long stretch my Dad didnt know what was stopping me from going to see them both. I explained that I couldn't go as my partner in crime was out of the country. He looked at me and smiled while rubbing my back. A sort of understanding/heartfelt pat on the back...
Literally 10 minutes later my Mums mobile rang then Musiq's latest single So Beautiful played on the radio. Dad had heard the first verse and turned the volume down. He whispered 'Son, have you got this song at home' I looked at him confused at why this big old man is whispering to me and said 'Yeah'! He smiled and said 'Thats good son'. I had no idea what the old man was up too!
I had the tune on my Blackberry and had planned to send it to my partner in crime but the bloody thing wouldn't send...pissed!

“XO Man” One to watch
Personally I’ve known about XO Man for a while now, from his humble beginnings as a garage/grime MC, XO has now diversified his sound and is a real breath of fresh air incorporating all sorts of musical genres within his sound. His live shows aren’t your run of the mill MC spitting bars on a backing track dropped by a dj, NO... These performances have character, including a live band and usually some off the cuff banter.
With a quirky swagger, an excellent live show, and great comedic lyrical content, I’m definitely shouting out XO Man as one to look out for, furthermore I’d recommend you go see him, and while you’re there you might as well cop some neat goodies. You can see him next at WIRED 6th April, @Shoreditch house, London.

Good Few Days For Us Gooners
It's been an encouraging week for us Arsenal Fans! The season so far has seen a young Arsenal team show indifferent form with key players out injured for long periods of time and some will say losing experienced players and replacing them with 'Kids'. This week has seen us make the 4th round of the FA Cup, Quater Finals of the Champions League with a great penalty shoot out win against Roma and now placed 4th in the Premiership due to a good 4-0 victory over Blackburn yesterday along with some help today from our fierce north london rivals Tottenham with a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa (Sascha, thank your boys for me mate).
Flappers and Fun: Cellar Door Vaudeville at The Last Days of Decadence.
I am not a wholesale supporter of fancy dress, but the 20’s vaudeville theme did lend the occasion a degree of class. The girls were elegant….
And the boys put on a good show too…
The night commenced with an avant-garde burlesque show. To what degree one could describe this as sexy depends on your personal leanings… “can I shit in your mouth” is not an offer I would typically find hot, or readily accept. But as they say horses for courses…
Continuing the theme there was a shoe buff boy,
which I made sure i utilised services… I fell over in the process, not so hot!
And a flower girl for all those lucky enough to have a not so cheap admirer….
The night was marked by the high standard of the numerous bands that played. Highlights for me were ‘the peeps’ with their fresh, ebullient style….
Check out their myspace page for upcoming gigs.

The Warrant
Khan V Barrera...
Im a big Amir Khan fan, who in all honesty expected an upset when he fought Breidis Prescott back in September. I think that was largely due to the way the heavy hitting, unknown columbian was written off from a very early stage. Although not shocked at the defeat, i was shocked at the way Prescott made Khan look like bambi on ice!
SOULTROPIC----------------->>>>>>PHOTOGRAPHER
Fonteau goes by the artistic name of SOULTROPIC, and is based in the French West Indies, Martinique.
Below are a series of photographs he took documenting the general strike in Martinique. During this historical movement, everything comes to a halt for the duration of the strike; that has been ongoing for the past four weeks, and he thinks, may end today.
Well, when I saw these shots, I thought they were marvellous in my opinion. The action, the emotion, the portrait shots are strikingly beautiful, the colours.....
I just had to share them with you guys------------------>SEE SEE xxx

THIS ARTIST...THAT AMAR STEWART---->>>
24 year old Artist Amar Stewart, hails from Leamington, in the West Midlands; round my way. After finding that The Midlands isnt exactly stimulation central, he packed up and left. He moved to London 5 years ago, and when I saw his work, I wished I had known him there, because we would have collaborated by now.....
Anyway, returning from the tangent. Stewart mainly came into his own, artistically, when he arrived in London Town, 'Surrounded by such creative people and heavily driven by the energy from the city', he began to gain inspiration that is the impetus behind the majority of his work.
Now, he started off with graffiti art, creating pieces influenced by people, which he then developed into larger scale, and also incorporated various different mediums, such as, chalk, pencil and acrylic paint.
Mr Stewart is a bloody hard worker too, he has such drive, enthusiasm and vivacity that only adds to the personality of his creations. Check out all these blogs he contributes and runs simultaneously whilst doing his day thing, and working on his collection for various exhibitions due to run through 2009/10---->

BLU ART...GO ON, STIMULATE THOSE EYEBALLS..................
So its 11.30pm and I am sitting cross legged on the floor, looking at the screen, in the same way I have done, all bloody day long. Been working on concepts, and a theme for my installation for an up and coming exhibition.
After a coffee, and numerous arty chats with my boy Amar Stewart, he sent me this to watch, and although I've seen something like this before, (possibly this actual one) I cant recall it, and therefore am overwhelmed to have to post it.
I love this...just going to forget the text, and just press publish. And then re-watch it. WATCH IT! IT IS GOOD...
Soulja Boy...Hmmm...
He confuses me...
I've put a video below of Soulja Boy showing how he produces with the Fruity Loops production software.
This is what I like about Soulja Boy:
He's trying to do more than just be a novelty one-hit wonder by homing in on his other crafts...and I appreciate this even more since I'm currently saving for my own studio! Its also impressive that he actually bought the free demo version of Fruity Loops to make 'Crank Dat', his debut number one single, which probably made him truckloads of cash monee! So I recognise the hustle, and the fact that he invested his money into furthering himself...in fact, I commend him on that. I also quite like his Gucci trainers, they're a bit sick actually.
But here's what I don't like about Soulja Boy:
He has no humility! There's no need to show off all the money you have, keep that ish to yourself. Secondly, after listening to some of his beats, I realised that they're not very good. This in itself is a shame...I wish he was a wicked producer so I could let him off for the arrogance.
See what you think about the video - and the Gucci trainers!
Christina be a Hot Blonde Mess - The Conclusion
There was a lot of fuss regarding the hilarious blog that got released with Usher, Bryan Michael Cox, Jermaine Dupri and Johnta making fun of Christina's new blonde look and 'slutty' swagger (by the way, she's now signed to Radio Killa Records, The Dream's label...just like I predicted). Here's the response from The Dream regarding the issue during an interview with Rap Radar:
"Recently, your girlfriend Christina Milian has caught a lot of heat over the pictures she took at the Atlanta Hawks game".
Oh yeah, they hate her. [But] I love it. Cause evidently, we controlling the airwaves right now. People that can’t hate on me are going to hate on her.
"It seems much of criticism comes from the blonde dye job".
That sh*t look good to me. She is an artist. She changed her hair color cause she wanted to change it. I aint have sh*t to do with it. Why I look like walking around making someone change their hair color.
"Did you feel some sort of way about Johntá Austin, Jermaine Dupri, and Usher were clowning her"?
Hmm mmm, of course I did. I called all of them. First person I called was Johntá Austin.
Did you speak to Usher? He called me and told me he was sorry and or whatever. But she on Radio Killa. She feel a certain way about it, then I’m good on you. We can’t even work. And to clear this up, “Oh, she f*ckin’ for tracks” and this sh*t, I be like these muthaf*ckas must be stupid. It’s a recession ain’t nobody got to f*ck for tracks. We basically giving them away. There’s a clearance!
Anyhoo...I've found this story hilarious from start to finish...just goes to show how a bad makeover and slightly skanky attitude can get you a record deal!
