Firstly an uplifting track by Wookie with Battle

Next, one of the biggest UKG tunes that used to get everyone dancing (those under 18 dances where jokes, everyone trying their best on the dance floor)!

Then finally a tune that every MC wanted to jump on. Phanz, remember 31 Flavour's when Mega Man & Romeo murdered this tune!!!! Those were the days...

Its Valentines weekend so i thought it was only right to pick a nice Rare Groove tune to get people in the mood!

I grew up hearing Rare Groove in the house because of my big sis and always get into a zone in a dance when the drop a few tunes! There's been plenty times I'm on my way to pick the Fam prior to going out and I'm listening to rare groove and have to change the folder on my MP3 player before they get in (always get cussed for listening to old tunes. Many call me Grandad because of it)!

I chose this song for this weeks flash back as I've now grown tired of this weeks weather! Dont get me wrong, i like the snow. I made a snowman, peppered my niece with snowballs & on Monday night went for a late night walk in the snow but i feel that its great fun for a day or so but when your pavement is still an ice rink 5 days after the intial event and you've been taking Salt from work to grit your drive...its begins to feel like a bit of a joke ting!

Im sure I'm not the only one that feels this way so with the help of Roy Ayers hopefully we'll see change soon!

This week im giving you 2 videos for not posting last week (came home to a nice virus on my pc).

Next, Too Young To Die by Jamiroquai.

I remember this being the first tune i ever heard from Jay Kay on the Box. I was instantly a fan and found myself hooked to his vocal and the groups overall sound since then. Definitely my favourite Jamiroquai track.

Last week a conversation between friends about Lil Wayne & Juelz Santana erupted into an argument about who was the hardest. The conversation had us both with our iPods out clashing tune for tune with me finding everything that had Santana on it. This went on for nearly 40 minutes where we finally agreed to disagree (it was obvious that i won).

Now, I like Wayne and have to admire his work ethic (this dude had mixtape after mixtape out from 07 - 08 and featured on loads of tunes) but i didnt really think he was that hard as an MC in comparison to Juelz. For me, Juelz ate him on every tune they did together. 

This weeks flashback isn't one of Juelz's hardest but he GOES IN on the 1st verse. 

So, this is to you FRIEND (i wont name names. You know who you are)!

This weeks Flash back comes a little late on in the day as i've just managed to remove a little virus i had on my PC. Some would say its my fault as my new nickname seems to be _  _ Nigel (fill the gaps)!

Last week i was tasked to DJ at a friends house for about an hour and change the genre of music from Hip Hop, so i started to  play a little House and went back to a tune that started off my appreciation for the genre, Armand Van Helden's 1999 UK No 1 "You Dont Know Me". 

I casted my mind back to the first time i had seen the video on TV which had me not knowing what genre of music it was but left me knowing that whatever it was, this tune was big!

I felt like listening to something mellow this afternoon so i jumped into iTunes and clicked my '90's Music' playlist and remembered this gem from a South London resident.

A song that has to be played every summer without fail.

I previously thought that i'd missed the boat by not posting this song last week due to the title and theme but due to the passing of the artist yesterday i thought it was only right.

Eartha Kitt for me was most remembered for her role in Boomerang as Lady Eloise the older lady who Marcus (Eddie Murphy) allowed to seduce him into bed with the hopes of wining a job promotion.

In 1953 Eartha Kitt sang Santa Baby which has more recently been used by Debenhams in there Christmas Ad Campaign. Due to her passing yesterday i thought it was only right for this song to be used on Flashback Friday.
